Sight Seeing: There are very much incredible sights on Palawan Island. The most amazing sight is the rain forest all over the island which is still in a good condition....

  • Puerto Princesa: The capital of the province Palawan. A small and nice town in the middle of Palawan. It is a much more relaxed way of life as like you will find it in Manila or in Cebu for example. And so it will be a good starting point to exploring Palawan island. From here you have a lot of connections to the other parts of the island. You will as well find here much hand made arts and crafts.

It is beautifully furnished, however somewhat you hear every sound in this house. Earplugs for the night are recommended! WIFI is available... (50PHP per day)

The Underground River is a cave is located near to the village Sabang and is a part of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. To get to the entrance of the cave you can rent a boat in Sabang (20 minutes - 700 PHP per boat) or you can have a hike through the rain forest (2 hours). Accomodation:

We were accommodated in Sabang in the Bambua Nature Park Resort (950 PHP per Cottage), which is located a little bit on the edge of the village. It has already seen some better times but it was ok and it has a really good cuisine. The cottage is spacious and equipped with fan and bath.

  • Port Barton: We have been in this beautiful village in the province San Vincente of Palawan. To get there you have to take a Jeepney or public bus from Puerto Princesa (PP) to a junction near San Jose. There you must wait for the Jeepney to Port Barton. If you are lucky people you will get the Jeepney in PP direct to Port Barton, but it does not operate on every day. It is a nice journey through the rain forest!
